Always — After Every Ceremony & Prayer
Ardas
ਅਰਦਾਸ
About This Bani
Ardas is the communal Sikh prayer offered before and after every important activity — at Gurudwara, before a journey, after a ceremony, at the start of a new project. It is a living prayer that remembers the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, all ten Gurus, all Sikh martyrs, all who served the faith, and ends with a prayer for the welfare of all humanity.
Why We Recite This
Ardas is recited to begin any important act with God's blessing and to conclude any act with gratitude. It connects every Sikh to the entire Sikh community — living and those who have passed. When Ardas is recited, the entire congregation stands together, head bowed, as one body before God.
